credit-hire.ai — Rate Check

Checking sign-in…

The Basic Hire Rate, determined — with the reasoning you defend it on.

Describe the claim, confirm the vehicle that was hired, and enter your own charges. Rate Check searches the captured local hire market for that date, applies the ruled methodology, and returns the Basic Hire Rate a court would test your charges against — with the winning comparator, the arithmetic shown step by step, and every supplier considered and excluded stated on the face of the result. Where the evidence cannot support a figure, the check says so and says why: that answer is part of the product, not an error.

Three steps, then run the check. Your form is checked before anything is submitted — an incomplete form costs nothing.

Step 1 — The claimant and any additional drivers every field is required — suppliers refuse drivers on age, licence, convictions and occupation, so the check must know them. The 20-mile search radius around the postcode is fixed by the methodology; there is nothing to set.
Pattern-gated (§4.2, RC-20260814-14), max 64. The gate is the schema — not a notes field.
Required — letters, digits, space, “/ - _ .” only (1–64).
Pattern-gated (letters, space, hyphen, apostrophe, full stop), max 100 (§4.2).
Required — letters, spaces, hyphens, apostrophes, full stops only.
Locality base. The 20-mile radius around it is fixed by the engine (RC-24) — there is nothing to set.
Required — a valid UK postcode.
Required — 16 to 120 (§4.2).
Enter 0 if held less than a year. Must not exceed age − 15.
Required — ≥ 0 and ≤ age − 15.
Inherited from the rebuttal form — one taxonomy across both products (§4.2 by reference).
Required.
Required for the claimant AND every additional driver (STE amendment; feeds EXC-FAULT-ACCIDENTS).
Required — 0 or more.
Required.
≥ ESTATE_FIRST_CAPTURE_DATE (17 Jul 2026); earlier dates gate GATE-PRE-ESTATE.
Required — on or after 17 July 2026.
Default 7. Any N-day figure is DERIVED from the 7-day per-day basis and disclosed (QUAL-DURATION-DERIVED, RC-20260814-01).
If given — 1 to 365.
Qualifies the output (QUAL-IMPECUNIOUS); never halts the run.
Required.
Convictions / endorsements (DVLA codes) — the ratified DVLA reference (91 codes, CONTRACT v1.2 §4.2 — deliberately NOT the rebuttal form's 49-code subset: it carries no DG code) · per-conviction Spent attestation + conditional disqualification end date (v1.2, signed 16 Aug 2026)

Required, may be empty — an empty table is a positive statement of a clean licence, not a gap.
Additional drivers — required, may be empty · each carries the FULL claimant field set (STE amendment, §4.2)
Every named driver is tested at Stage 2; a supplier that would refuse ANY of them excludes under EXC-ADDITIONAL-DRIVER.
Step 2 — The vehicle that was hired pick it from the list and the system classifies it — group, body and EV status are filled for you; transmission is the one thing you select
Serving the built-in fixture subset until the live table lookup answers. Search here FIRST — the “not listed” route (last option) is only for a vehicle genuinely absent (RC-20260814-28).
Required.
Required.
Filled by the system, not a user entry field (Stephen, 14 Aug 2026). Half the equivalence key.
Not an entry field — retained system-filled as the other half of the equivalence key (§4.3).
The ONE field the lookup cannot fill: the table has no transmission position (schema verified §4.3). Hard filter at Stage 3 where the candidate’s value is known (RC-20260814-26).
Required — automatic or manual.
Required — select the vehicle from the dropdown, or complete the “not listed” path only if it is genuinely absent.
Pre-filled (greyed) from the selected vehicle’s ACRISS list price + £1,000 (v1.4 R7). Leave it untouched and the engine derives that figure itself, stamped derived; type a figure to overwrite — your attestation then governs (Q3) and any divergence is disclosed. Used only to test a defendant’s excess-insurance (Questor) argument against its £100,000 vehicle-value limit (v1.4 Q4).
Whole pounds (integer ≥ 0).
Step 3 — Your own charges, from the hire agreement inclusive of VAT · pounds and pence (£) · per day unless marked one-off — this is the like-for-like your figure is tested against

All charges are per day, unless stated, and include VAT.

Required — pounds and pence.
Required.
Required (0.00 permitted).
Required (0.00 permitted).
Added per candidate under limb (c) where that supplier publishes no roadside product on the ruled definition; an unpublished position adds nothing and is disclosed. Wire note: travels inside “Other (per day)” on submission until v1.4 is armed.
Required (0.00 permitted) — never coerced.
Derived server-side: CDW + theft + tyre & glass (§4.4). Never typed.
The determinant — what the hirer still carries after paying for the protection above.
Required (0.00 permitted).
Ancillary charges — recorded, excluded from the BHR, never market-benchmarked (§4.4)
Required (0.00 permitted).
Required (0.00 permitted).
Include any other per-day ancillary here. Recorded and excluded from the BHR; it prints on the determination as an “other ancillary” rather than by name until §4.4 gains a dedicated field.
Required (0.00 permitted).

Required (0.00 permitted).

Does the excess cover:

Tick each cover the excess above includes — at least one.

This decides which suppliers count as comparable. Under R6 peril parity, a supplier only matches if its protection covers every peril the excess covers. A waiver that cuts damage while leaving a theft excess is not a match for cover that includes theft — however close the money is. Where parity fails the supplier is excluded by name on the face of the result (EXM-PERIL-MISMATCH), so a cheaper rate cannot be relied on against you without that point being visible.
Required — tick at least one.
Run the check you are charged only when an answer is delivered

The fee is charged only for a delivered answer — a determination, or a completed refusal stating why no figure can be certified. A form stopped at the boundary is corrected free of charge. Your firm's balance above repaints after every charge.
