This walkthrough sets out how the platform works, so it is kept behind the member sign-in rather than published openly.

What credit-hire.ai actually does

The whole product, laid out on one page — for members, and for the colleague deciding whether to sign in. When you do, the platform asks a single question: what would you like to do today? These are the eight answers.

1
Liability Assessment

Who is at fault, by how much, and how do we prove it?

Describe the accident in plain English. Built on a 378-case liability corpus and a structured negligence framework — duty, breach, causation, denials, defences, contributory negligence — the assessment returns an indicative liability split with the closest comparable cases and their actual apportionments.

  • Applies the Highway Code in force, distinguishing mandatory rules from advisory ones.
  • Refine by road user, manoeuvre and contributing factors.
  • Switch on the claimant-side evidence checklist: what to ask for now, flagged perishable or durable.
2
Intervention Response

They've offered your client a car. Reply on your terms, not theirs — and neutralise the threat.

An intervention letter is designed to end your hire claim before it starts. The platform reads the letter and any FAQ pack that came with it, extracts the offer, and tests it against reality — raising the bar for the insurer.

  • Recognises registered insurer templates and extracts the offer, rates and vehicle table automatically.
  • Drafts a Copley-compliant response: rejection of a non-equivalent vehicle, particularisation of the “wide range of makes and models”, and the standard written question set.
  • Every output is a draft for a practitioner's review — the platform prepares the reply; you edit and sign it.
3
Nexus · Rate evidence

Capture today's basic hire rates — as evidence, not just screenshots

The basic hire rate argument is won or lost on the quality of the rate evidence. Nexus captures live quotations from real rental suppliers — for available vehicle groups, with the location and the dates that match your claim — and produces a dated, court-evidential record of the market as it stood at the day of hire.

  • Select the vehicle group and postcode; Nexus finds the supplying branches and their distance from your client.
  • Prices are captured with their conditions — excess, deposit, age limits, licence requirements.
  • The output is a structured evidential record: what was quoted, by whom, when, and on what terms.

Nexus is available separately from the Forum.

4
BHR Rebuttal Suite

They've challenged your rate. Let's negotiate by pointing out the checks they didn't run.

Insurers increasingly rely on quasi-expert rate reports — WhichRate, Arbitrate, BHR Compare and the like. The rebuttal suite reads the document you've been served, runs twenty-four deterministic eligibility and methodology checks against every cited supplier, and generates a structured rebuttal with ready-to-use correspondence and cross-examination points.

  • Four routes — one for each document that can land on your desk, including their reply to you.
  • Dedicated builds for cars and vans, motorcycles and scooters, and private hire and taxi.
  • Statements are analysed entirely in your browser. They never reach our servers, and are never sent to any AI model.
5
Research Assistant

Ask the law a question, get a cited answer

Plain English in, authority out. The research assistant reads the relevant judgments, commentary and rate data, and synthesises an answer with the citations attached — in seconds, not an afternoon.

  • One search across credit hire, liability and costs case law plus 372 expert commentary articles.
  • BHR analysis scope: the rental companies' own terms and conditions — CDW, excesses, age limits, driver fees.
  • GTA maximum settlement rates across sixteen rate periods, queryable by group, date or vehicle type.
  • Results weighted by court hierarchy — binding authority first.
6
Training Modules

Bring a new handler to competence, on the platform

Structured training from foundation to advanced — the legal framework, liability, qualifying periods, intervention, rates, claims handling and litigation — plus FCA modules, with an AI tutor in every section and certification at each tier.

  • Eleven modules, roughly eighteen hours, four certification tiers.
  • Formal assessments per module; certificates recognised across the industry.
  • Coming shortly: short films on using the platform — how to write a prompt, how BHR rebuttals work, what ACRISS is, and how Nexus captures evidence.
7
Case Law Directory

Six decades of decisions, filtered in seconds

More than 780 indexed cases — 403 credit hire and 378 liability — from the Supreme Court to the County Court. Filter by court, topic, year, jurisdiction, and outcome; every case carries a structured summary, its key principles and an authority weighting.

The reference desk

A searchable directory of 118 industry participants — CHOs, solicitors, counsel, BHR specialists, engineers, funders. The ACRISS classification lookup, for challenging ABI-GTA groupings with the only empirically independent standard. And every Credit Hire Forum article published since 2020, searchable by keyword and year.
